Busch GardensSo, according to this article (http://www.walletpop.com/blog/2009/01/20/disney-expands-to-shanghai-but-will-it-also-hook-shamu-it-will/), Disney is one of the only companies with the finances available to buy the Busch Gardens/SeaWorld parks (about $4.5 billion). Of course, they don’t take into account that I’ve been saving up for this very instance. Still, who wants to buy SeaWorld? Not me, that’s who…uh…not.

Anyway, when Busch got bought out by InBev (if you don’t know what I’m talking about, for shame), the big hubbub in Paul World surrounded what was going to happen to the parks. Busch Gardens Tampa, despite not having many rides, is a pretty cool park. Busch Gardens Williamsburg is actually a great theme park, and only a half hour away from me, so it fills that theme park need I have every once in a while.

While it would be great to see Disney pick up the parks, I’m not entirely sure how I’d feel about seeing Mickey Mouse so close to me. Virginia really could use it, of course, but Busch Gardens doesn’t really strike me a Disney park.

Of course, I’m probably just saying this because the theme park love of my life is Universal Studios and its sister park, Islands of Adventure, down in Orlando, Fl. I can just imagine the great things they could bring to Busch Gardens here in VA. I doubt they’d move any movie studios here, but heck…would be cool.

Plus, let’s be honest. My interest totally boils down to wanting a Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights here in Virginia. Undoubtedly my favorite theme park experience, HHN in Orlando is where I went for my HONEYMOON, if that’s any indication how much I love it.

Halloween Horror NightsAnd Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party?

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween PartyI rest my case.
