One of the things I find most interesting about the whole Batman: Reborn line is that it seems that some of the original teams are not working out, but DC isn’t making a big deal of things, pulling in “guest artists” quickly and keeping the momentum going. It seems like they learned their lesson from the One Year Later debacle, where so much momentum was lost because the creative teams just couldn’t keep up with the monthly schedule.
DCU’s The Source blog released a preview of the upcoming Batman #688, which is due in stores this coming Wednesday. Written by Judd Winick with art by Mark Bagley, the story seems to really be addressing some of the differences between the Bruce Wayne Batman and the Dick Grayson Batman, something I feel has been missing a bit in the relaunch. When was the last time we saw Batman smiling as he jumped into combat?
