Tomorrow, I get to face FEAR.  And this isn’t an internal struggle, no, I get to face the embodiment of FEAR at this year’s Universal Orlando Halloween Horror Nights event!  This year’s icon, FEAR, has gathered all of the previous years’ icons – the Usher, the Director, Jack the Clown, the Caretaker, and the Storyteller – and has decided to come forth in the icon’s big 20th year celebration.  How does FEAR tie all of the icons together?

There’s so much more stuff to share about this year’s big event after the jump!

Last week, I received a small envelope from Universal contained a letter and a USB drive containing the following video…(video courtesy of our buddies at Attractions Magazine)…

I can’t lie…I was a little disappointed and wondering if they were cutting back.  That is, until I received another package in the mail the other day.  It was a rather odd package (remember last year’s popcorn package?)….I opened the box carefully…

Yes folks, FEAR himself sent me a brand to “bear his mark!”

Last week, I was also able to attend a conference call with the minds behind this year’s HHN event to discuss FEAR…what did I learn?

  • Will there be a “Fear” character in the park? (since there was no guy in a straightjacket in the park like the ads from 2004)  Well, Fear has been omnipresent since day one, and is truly responsible for every scare and scream that has happened over the years, but YES, FEAR will be at the event….no details on when, where, or how…but we can assume he will be in the FEAR REVEALED scarezone…
  • Non committal answers on whether Bloody Mary appear this year or not…
  • All the main characters will be the best ideas from their own past, not any other intellectual properties.  All characters they’ve created just for HHN.  The 5 icons will have a purpose and relate to Fear, but he will not say how, but are instrumental.  Check out the warehouse experience for them…
  • Or, listen to the call for yourself below!!!!

Check out Attractions Magazine for some pictures of the event from Wednesday’s Employee Preview!  And check back here all weekend for my full trip report and more!
