Welcome, welcome, welcome. After a dry week with little, I guess I made up for it this week. Shall we get right to it? (I think we shall.. ;))
We start with Arrow Season 3 Episode 16 “The Offer”. This episode is a prime example of why I think when the show started, it should’ve been a show about Batman just starting out after his return from training as opposed to the Green Arrow. The over-all themes, plots, and such could remain the same, but the exact characters would be different. The writers have proven with their skill that they could’ve tied it to the Batman mythos just as easily as they have to Oliver Queen. It’s a shame that they didn’t. Ra’s al Ghul wanting anyone other than Bruce Wayne to be his successor just seems hollow. Then episode 17 “Suicidal Tendencies” – Okay, there’s got to be more to this than meets the eye. Why give the background on Deadshot if you’re just killing him off. I anticipate we’ll be seeing more of him in the future, and I’m okay with that. Also, I’d love for Brandon Routh to guest on The Flash and let DC’s Iron Man and Barry team up. The Atom just seems like he’d fit in better on the lighter tone of The Flash than Arrow.
From Agents of SHIELD Season 2 Episode 13 “One of Us” I only have one question: Who the heck is the “real” SHIELD?!
Once Upon A Time Season 4 Episode 14 “Unforgiven”, Episode 15 “Enter the Dragon”, and Episode 16 “Poor Unfortunate Soul” had thankfully little Cruella. Not that I have a thing against her, just I don’t see how she fits in. Glad that August is back. Regina trying to be evil is unconvincing, which says something for a character that started out as the “Evil Queen”. The redemption story with Ursula was nice, and actually gives me hope that there will be an episode focusing on Cruella.
Jane the Virgin Episode 15 & 16 – The show is so awesome with it being so over the top zany. it knows how to make fun of itself and does it well. The narrator is probably the best character. I really wish that Jane would’ve stayed with Michael, but there’s still time.
Glee Series Finale – This is a show that had a fantastic first season and then could never quite get back to it’s hey day. The seasons progressively got worse… but I felt it was worth it to check out how the show was ending. Between the two hour finale, and the clips of songs I watched on Hulu from this last season, they might’ve redeemed themselves. I’ll throw it on my queue, but at low priority. A very touching ending. Possibly as far fetched as anything in the show, but the music was good. (Yes, I never claimed to be an expert on quality).
Allegiance Episode 6 “Liars and Thieves” and Episode 7 “Strangers in a Strange Land” The show is progressing well, these weren’t bad episodes, but not great episodes. As to be expected with a spy drama, as soon as they get close to a solution, the problem evolves and changes further, making the progress ineffective. It’s still early in the series though.
Sailor Moon Crystal Episode 18 left me surprised, after the the precedent set the last few episodes that Sailor Venus was not abducted. But it looks like the overall story is progressing. Looking forward to the next episode, it’ll have Sailor Pluto. I don’t know much about the outer scouts. Looking forward to learning more.
Forever Episode 18 “Dead Men Tell Long Tales”. Mmmm, Mr Fantastic. Ioan Gruffudd always looks good. A story about pirates, their gold, and Henry’s first death. Teared up at the end when the details of Henry’s first death came to light.
Loved iZombie Episode 2 “Brother, Can You Spare a Brain?” as much as the first episode. But it brings up all sorts of questions. Is zombieism an STD? Does Liv permanently gain the traits earned through consuming brains, or is it temporary? I really liked the background given for Blaine (the other zombie) and for some reason I was chuckling at how many times Liv said Major in quick succession while at his place. (honestly I don’t know if she said it more than would be normal for a regular conversation, but it seemed that way to me at the time.)
The Flash Episode 16 “Rogue Time”. Well now. I guess I can eat some crow regarding what I said about wishing Cisco my best on wherever he lands now that he’s left The Flash… Mmm, it’s some of the best crow I’ve ever eaten. As for the rest of the episode, I wonder when the Prison Break brothers will get around to living up to their names and free the rest of the Rogue Gallery from STAR Labs.
