I recently dropped out of Marvel’s Daredevil title (currently being written by Andy Diggle), not out of dislike for the current run, which I do think is very interesting (Matt Murdock has taken control of The Hand, and is trying to reform it from within), but just because it seemed like a story in which […]
I don’t know a single card carrying geek that doesn’t profess to adore the original Highlander. A film that is totally a product of its time (seriously, how would we feel about a movie that started with wrestling nowadays?) manages to hold a special place in our hearts that, really, is pretty miraculous, considering how […]
This coming Saturday, May 1st, is Free Comic Book Day, a global event in which millions of free comic books will be given away absolutely free-of-charge to people visiting participating stores. So, what better time to visit with Joe Field whose brainchild FCBD is? Joe’s not just a mad genius bent on putting free comics […]
While the web tells us we’re anxiously awaiting the trailer for the new Jonah Hex movie starring Josh Brolin and Megan Fox (are we? I’m not.), it appears that the film, which is due out in a mere two months, finally has a poster. And…it screams three things to me – crap, Van Helsing, and […]
All of you nerds already know of Freezepop, I’m sure. With songs appearing in a few popular video games and having played PAX a few times, Freezepop has been in nerd culture enough already. Of course, it is a specific branch of nerd culture and I’ll explain a bit for those of you in other […]

I’ve spoken before about Syfy’s upcoming reinvention of The Phantom, and, even though I didn’t dig the concept designs for the costume, I have to admit that, after seeing the trailer, the mini-series, premiering June 20th on SyFy Channel, looked pretty decent. In fact, I found it very Batman Beyond-ish. Having been given the chance […]
As we should all know by now, May 1st will be the greatest day in the history of…2010, at least. One of my favorite days of the year, Free Comic Book Day, is going to be happening, and, really, is there anything better than free comics? Unless you shop at El Camino Comics, your comic […]
After watching only the first couple of seconds of the trailer for Future X-Cops, I knew I wanted to see it. You have X-Men looking villains fighting a superpowered police force in the future, starring the very talented Andy Lau (The Warlords, Infernal Affairs)? Sign me up! Of course, as I started watching the film, […]
In the days leading up to Free Comic Book Day, Aron, Paul, Wayne, and Jonathan gathered to discuss the books they paid for, announce a contest winner, and tease Free Funnybook Day! Saturday May 1st is Free Comic Book Day at a participating comic shop near you! Monday May 3rd is Free Funnybook Day right […]
