With the new Trek reboot now in theaters and (hopefully) set to reinvigorate the franchise, it’s pretty interesting to note that this idea isn’t exactly a new one. While the storyline itself is original to this movie, the idea of rebooting the franchise and exploring the early adventures of the Enterprise crew was actually considered […]
It’s been awhile since I’ve been excited about something happening in the Bat-books. Right now? I’m all giddy. In June, DC Comics and Greg Rucka bring the world Batwoman. Originally introduced way back in the pages of DC’s weekly, 52 (y’know, DC’s good weekly?), we haven’t seen a whole lot of her since. Now she’ll […]
Good golly I loves me some Star Trek RPGing. I’ve been running Trek games since 1982 with the FASA system. It is a system that is long out of print. Since 1989 in fact. For seven years, FASA put out the best damned Trek RPG that would ever be published. I love the system […]
I’m going to avoid trying to cuss in this article, since we’re talking with Jake Parker, creator of the all ages title Missile Mouse. Still, Missile Mouse kicks butt. If you haven’t picked up Flight Explorer, why not? You’re missing out on new tales of Jellaby and Missile Mouse, and other all-ages appropriate tales by […]
One of my fondest memories as a small Paul is watching the TV show Werewolf on Fox at my grandparents’ house, recording it on audio tape and listening to it later while I made Werewolf comic books. It was my favorite TV show as a kid. Of course, growing up, I’ve not met a SINGLE […]
Remember how psyched you were when X-Men #1 by Chris Claremont and Jim Lee came out back in 1991 (sh*t I’m old…that was EIGHTEEN YEARS AGO!!!!), and the art and story were so fantastic? I loved that series until Jim Lee left and, oddly, until recently, I didn’t even know that Chris Claremont left the […]
SPOILERS FOR THE END OF X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE FOLLOW: Well dang. If my mouth wasn’t sewn shut in a Weapon X experiment, I’d stick my foot in it. I really wasn’t expecting this to actually happen: Twentieth Century Fox has begun development on “Deadpool,” an “X-Men” spinoff that will be crafted as a star vehicle […]
It’s kind of a sad fact, but most fans typically venture into their franchise’s “expanded universe.” Some of the biggest fans of Star Wars haven’t picked up Timothy Zahn’s excellent “Heir to the Empire” series, which (I think) makes a pretty darn good follow up to the original trilogy. A good number of people who […]
Every Wednesday from here until July 15th, the release date of DC Comics’ Blackest Night #1, we here at IoM will be presenting a history of each of the corps involved in the upcoming battle, as well as some background on the major players and the storylines leading up to the big event! We started […]
If you haven’t heard yet, probably one of the best arcade games of all time, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time, is being remade for the Xbox Live network as downloadable content. No release date or pricing has been announced yet, but this isn’t a straight port, like the original TMNT Arcade Game for […]
