Trying to figure out how to spend your hard-earned cash this week?  You know you wait with baited breath for your Tuesday Best Buy visit and your Wednesday comic shop visit!  Well, here’s a list of the good stuff coming out this week – don’t waste your money on anything else!

Comics

ROBIN #183
The perfect jumping on point for new readers!  Why?  Because it’s the last damn issue!  Batman’s dead (kinda), and Robin is all growed up.  This ish is probably set up for next month’s Battle for the Cowl in the bat books, but I can assure you, if you’re not reading Robin, you’re missing out on one of the best books in the Batman area of the DCU.

CAPTAIN BRITAIN AND MI 13 TP VOL 01 SECRET INVASION
Because everyone tells us it’s so good.  I’m going to buy it this week and I’ll let you know how it is!  I’m a bit bummed out that this series started with Secret Invasion crossover issues, but supposedly it didn’t hurt the quality. 

BATTLESTAR GALACTICA CYLON WAR #2 (OF 4)
This comic tells the story of the the twelve colonies the Cylons during the first Cylon War  Seems like it’s in-continuity, and writer Josh Ortega is pretty darn good.  If you’re a Galactica fan, Dynamite doesn’t seem to be wasting your time with their minis.  How often is it that a good comic comes out based on a TV Show?

GI JOE ORIGINS #1
Another book about the origin of G.I. Joe.  I wasn’t too keen on when Devil’s Due did it a couple of years back, so hopefully this one fairs better, cuz I loves me some G.I. Joe.  Still…if you’re still peeved about Devil’s Due losing the license like I am, probably not up your alley.

STREET FIGHTER IV #1 (OF 4)
UDON rocks.  I feel like, when I look at their comics, I’m looking at freeze frames from Anime.  This is the first ish of a 4-issue mini series trying to give a fighting game a storyline!  Ha!  Yeah, I know…pretty funny.  But their last line of Street Fighter comics were surprisingly good.

Hell to the yes!  How long have we been waiting for this?  Years!  YEEEEEEEAAAARRRRSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!  Do I really need to tell you to buy this game?  Buy it on the Ps3 if you have a Ps3.  If you don’t, buy a Ps3!  Haha…kidding.  We all know the Ps3 kinda sucks.

DVD

Quarantine
A damn good remake of the spanish original, [Rec].  Kinda bugs me that the only copy of [Rec] I can find online is $37.50 and is an import, but this flick is only $25 bucks on Blu-Ray, and is totally a Blu-Ray purchase.  Don’t have a Blu-Ray player?  Buy a Ps3!  Haha…kidding.  We all know the Ps3 kinda sucks.  Buy the regular DVD instead.  Either way, this flick is really good.  I mean, they remade a film WHILE the original was being made!  How often does that happen?

Feast III: The Happy Finish
If you didn’t like Feast II, don’t bother.  If you haven’t seen Feast I or II, check them out if you like mean-spirited horror comedy.  The direction is what MAKES these films, but these DTV sequels do suffer from budget constraints.  May be a rental instead of a buy.
