Not really sure there’s much more to it than that.
Well, maybe a couple of things.
This Saturday, you can walk into almost any comic book shop near you and pick up a free comic book. But ONE free comic? What are you going to do with that? Read it in the car on the way home, driving with your knees? Maybe someone should offer you more than one free comic.
Maybe something like…I dunno…ONE HUNDRED FREE COMICS!!!!!!!!
Do you want 100 free comics that don’t suck? And by suck, I mean that the winning prize package DOES NOT include comics like Scooby-Doo, Looney Tunes, Final Crisis (heh), or any of the numerous comics in this world that you could really care less about.
By comics that don’t suck, I mean that you’ll get a first issue of Gears of War and Resistance (both from Wildstorm/DC Comics), as well as issues Batman (DC Comics), Mighty Avengers and New Avengers, and more. You never know…we might even through in something fancier than just a floppy.
100 comics worth of goodness.
Seriously.
And I promise not to give you all 52 issues of Countdown or 52. Though it’s tempting.
And you don’t have to pay for shipping.
“How do I get these 100 comics?” you may ask, one hand scratching your chin.
Check after the jump.
It’s simple.
Tell people about us. Tell people about the awesomeness that is IoM and send us some proof showing how you did it.
The best way to enter the contest? Below, I’ve attached our flyer – print it out, make copies, and bring it to your local comic store before Free Comic Day (or first thing in the morning) and leave some flyers (or better yet, hand ’em out).
Take a photo. Then, email me the photo at paulkaponte@gmail.com, tell me about your comic shop (give us their address and a link to their website if they have one). That way, you get the word out about IoM and your favorite comic shop!
Or there are other ways…did you walk around campus naked with our web address written on your butt? Send us a pic (if you’re over 18). Don’t like the flyer we did? Design your own and send it to us!
Be clever, be creative, but most importantly…spread the madness!
I’ll pick one lucky dude or dudette from the batch of folks who get back to me.
Said dude or dudette will receive 100 free comics!
More than likely, there will be a 2nd and 3rd place…but you know me. I have no clue what they are yet.
Don’t like comics? Sell ‘em on Ebay for the cash! Either way you’re better for it!
The usual rules apply – must be 18 and over, US resident, blah blah blah. Contest ends 2 weeks from today (May 13th for all those without 14 fingers for countin’).
Good luck!
