Don’t you just hate award shows?  I hate award shows like I hate teenage vampire angst.  But there are is one award show I never miss – Spike TV’s SPIKE AWARDS, broadcast every year around Halloween, and awarding the best in genre entertainment like horror, sci-fi, and comic books!  Of course, sometimes the films nominated are laughable, but the award show itself is never boring, full of crazy gags and stunts and great musical performances. 

In addition, this year, the REAPER AWARDS are the first ever horror home video awards specifically for DVD horror.  Among the categories are things like Best Re-release, Best Blu-Ray, Best Packaging, and a ton more.

The best thing about both?  You can vote!  No more watching stupid lousy films that you skipped over win awards – you can vote for films that sure as hell aren’t going to win “Best Picture” at the Oscars – films like The Uninvited, Dead Snow, and Watchmen.

So what are you waiting for?  Make your voices heard!  Vote for the Spike Awards here and the Reaper Awards here!  The Spike Awards premiere on Spike TV October 27th at 10pm.  The Reaper Awards will not be televised, but I’m sure we’ll be able to see them somewhere eventually.
