Kinda like DC did a month or so ago, Marvel has literally been flooding the market place with news about their upcoming Heroic Age, including all sorts of ominous teasers, reveals of new creative teams, new superhero teams, and a ton of other goodies! What have they revealed?
Check out all the goodies after the jump!
The Avengers: Marvel has revealed five members of the new Avengers team, as well as the creative team – Brian Michael Bendis and John Romita, Jr. Which means that we can look forward to getting this book on time! Five members of the team have been revealed so far – Captain America (the Bucky one), Spider-Woman, Iron Man, Hawkeye, and Thor. No telling if this is the entire team, or just the portion they’re revealing right now, because it would be pretty surprising if they only had five members on the team.
Secret Avengers: Not as exciting has been the reveals of the Secret Avengers, a new book from writer Ed Brubaker and artist Mike Deodato. Not entirely sure who’ll comprise this team, as, sticking with the name, Marvel has been keeping the “revealed” members a secret. Hard to say who the members are – guesses have been as varied as Venom, Spider-Man, Beast, Sentry, Taskmaster, and others … who do you think is on the team?
Thunderbolts: Friend of Funnybooks with Aron and Paulie, Jeff Parker will be continuing his writing chores on Thunderbolts post-Siege, and it appears that the team is in for quite an overhaul. While some team members, such as Ghost, will be returning, the majority of the team looks to be new, including new team leader Luke Cage! Who else will be on the team? How about Juggernaut, Crossbones, Ghost, Moonstone and Man-Thing? Sounds like a very different team!
Amazing Spider-Man Presents: American Son: Has Harry Osborn once again followed in his father’s footsteps? Seems so, according to the writer of the new Amazing Spider-Man Presents: American Son mini series, Brian Reed. Someone’s wearing the American Son armor, and Harry seems the most likely suspect (which probably means it’s not him).
X-Men: Second Coming: As Jonathan said on this week’s Funnybooks, X-Men: Second Coming is on its way, and the story looks to bring about big changes to the X-titles. Someone will die, someone will sacrifice themselves, and a new leader arises? Oh, and Hope is Jean Grey. Duh.
Captain America: Ed Brubaker and Butch Guice are bringing back Baron Zemo to the Heroic Age pages of Captain America! Oh, and Who Won’t Wield the Shield?
Siege: This April, Siege is getting a series of one-shots focusing on some of the secondary characters of the event, including Captain America, Spider-Man, Secret Warriors, Young Avengers, and Loki, written by an all-star cast including Jonathan Hickman and Kieron Gillen! Apparently, these stories all take place during Siege, but aren’t necessarily connected past that. Other than the wicked awesome cover by Marko Djurdjevic.
