Imagi Animation has done some truly stellar work, between their TMNT and Astro Boy (review here) movies.  When news came a couple of years ago that they’d be doing a Gatchaman movie, I have to admit to scratching my head.  My only familiarity with the property was the 2002 Top Cow Battle of the Planets comic book, which I have to admit not remembering much about past the stellar art.

That being said, online today, I came across a trailer for Imagi’s upcoming Gatchaman movie.  While the film appears to be plagued with financial issues, it does still appear as if there is an intention of releasing the film sometime in 2011 and now, I have to admit, I can’t wait.  This film looks absolutely stellar.  Let’s hope it really does see the light of day sometime soon.
