DARKNESS FANS CAN DIVE INTO JACKIE ESTACADO’S BEGINNING WITH THE WITCHBLADE
THE DARKNESS: ORIGINS VOLUME 2 TRADE PAPERBACK
LOS ANGELES, Calif., June 8, 2010 – Top Cow Productions, Inc. proudly announced today that the long sold-out early issues of The Darkness will be re-released as The Darkness: Origins Volume 2. Scheduled to be in stores June 30, 2010, The Darkness: Origins Volume 2 continues the rebranding presented as part of the publisher’s “Origins” trade paperback line reprinting of classic Top Cow Universe stories that includes the recently released Witchblade: Origins Volume 1 and 2, and The Darkness: Origins Volume 1 trade paperbacks.
For fans new to Top Cow’s publications, The Darkness: Origins Volume 2 continues where The Darkness: Origins Volume 1 leaves off as we go back to the beginning and see 21-year-old mob hitman Jackie Estacado struggle with the power and the burden of The Darkness.
Also collected in this edition of The Darkness: Origins Volume 2 trade paperback is the first crossover between The Darkness and Witchblade in the fan favorite “Family Ties” storyline.
Showcasing talent from David Wohl (Executive Assistant Iris) and Christina Z. (Jenna Jameson’s Shadow Hunter), and featuring art by Top Cow founder Marc Silvestri, superstar Joe Benitez (Soulfire, Pilot Season: Demonic), and legendary artist Michael Turner (Soulfire, Fathom), the 176-page The Darkness: Origins Volume 2 collects The Darkness #7-10 as well as Witchblade #18-19.
”The Origins line showcases some of Top Cow’s most popular and timeless material. The ‘Family Ties’ story arc represents one of our first inter-title crossovers,” said Top Cow Publisher Filip Sablik, “It’s great to see this material once again available as part of the Origins trade line.”
