Yeah … we’re not at SDCC this year.  Don’t rub it in.

Still, there’s tons and tons and tons of news rolling out that we’ve been watching with baited breath and, though nothing has blown our socks off just yet, there’s still been a number of interesting announcements …

Green Lantern: The Animated Series: I think maybe going with the CG-animated route may have been ill-advised.  The animation here looks like the opening sequence of a Ps2 game.  I’ll still give it a shot, but I’m not wowed by this, especially considering the excellent GL animated films DC/WB has put out recently. Embed won’t work, so go here to watch.

Cable Reborn: Yeah, it wasn’t Hulks, as I was expecting.  Jeph Loeb and Ed McGuiness are bringing Cable back.  But did anyone really miss him?

The Death of Deadpool: Given the nature of the character, I doubt we’re talking a real death here.

Looney Tunes on Blu-Ray: Surprised more people aren’t going ga-ga over this announcement.  I know I’m pretty excited about it.

Teen Titans looks pretty darn impressive: Seriously, check out the preview art.

The Incredible Hulk by Jason Aaron and Marc Silvestri: Yeah … sign me up for this one.  No art released yet.

Some more Superman preview art: I’m sure Funnybooks host Wayne will complain about this.  For more about unmarried brooding Superman, listen to Monday’s episode of Funnybooks.

Francis Manapul is awesome: And I have a new wallpaper on my desktop.

Victor Crowley meets Cassie Hack: Let’s hope the results are better than Hatchet II was.

Marvel is re-releasing Jim Lee’s X-Men #1: Recolored and all that sure…but why?

Are Peter and MJ gonna do it? Otherwise, why is she wearing his shirt?

Fear Itself, X-Men Schism, and Avengers: The Children’s Crusade have something to do with each other.  So them ending in the same month is intentional.

Artifacts will become an ongoing series: Essentially, the answer to Top Cow’s Avengers-type book.  Ron Marz and Stjepan Sejic will be the creative team.  I’m SUPER psyched about this.  Tim Seeley is taking over writing on Witchblade when Marz leaves the title.

The Fearless: For those who are loving Fear Itself.

 Is Cyclops gonna die

Star Trek and the Legion of Super-Heroes: Yeah…seriously.

My favorite announcement of SDCC so far: Uncharted, the comic.
