crapmoviesf13dvd_bluFriday the 13th (DVD/Blu-Ray):
No one else seemed to enjoy the Friday the 13th redux as much as I did, but I thought it was a great addition to the series and it seemed to have succeeded in what it sent out to do – bringing the Jason franchise back from the dead!  The DVD edition seems to be pretty sparse, save for the “Killer Cut,” which looks to be about 7 minutes longer.  The Blu-Ray looks loaded, though, with a ton of behind the scenes featurettes and deleted/extended scenes.  Also keep an eye out for the Friday the 13th double dips on parts 4-6 (and 2 and 3 on Blu-Ray), loaded with a ton of special features!

The comics you should buy this week!11871_400x600Batman Streets Of Gotham #1 (DC Comics)
Paul Dini.  Dustin Nguyen.  Do you really need to know any more?

1365_400x600Hitman Vol 1 A Rage In Arkham TP (DC Comics)
The return of probably the greatest in-continuity (kinda) DC book ever.  Garth Ennis was writing Hitman at the same time as Preacher, so it pretty much got ignored, but, ultimately, Hitman ends up with a more satisfying ending.  Start at the beginning, featuring appearances by The Demon and Batman!

11874_400x600Outsiders #19 (DC Comics)
Are you reading this book yet?  Because it started during Battle for the Cowl, it doesn’t have the pretty Batman: Reborn logo on it, but The Outsiders fits squarely into the new Batuniverse, with Alfred heading up the new team (which seems strangely ignored in the other Batbooks).

Cable #15Cable #15 (Messiah War Part 6) (Marvel)
The excellent Messiah War continues in this week’s issue of Cable, featuring the return of Apocalypse!

Captain America #600Captain America #600 (Marvel)
Early word is that this one will feature a lot of media hype.  Will this be the return of Steve Rogers?  We know for sure that at least the female Bucky from Onslaught Reborn will be back.

Ultimatum Spider-Man Requiem #1Ultimatum Spider-Man Requiem #1 (Marvel)
No one seemed to like the end of Ultimate Spider-Man.  Let’s see if this is a redemption for the series before it reboots later this year.

The Mice Template Vol 1 TPBMice Templar Vol 1 The Prophecy TP (Image)
The TPB edition of Michael Avon Oeming’s excellent Mice Templar series.  If you like your mice with weapons, you can’t miss this book!

Tales from Wonderland Cheshire CatTales From Wonderland Cheshire Cat (Zenescope)
Friend of IoM Raven Gregory tells the backstory of the Cheshire Cat.  Looks incredibly creepy.  Check out a preview of the issue here.
