They’re already remaking Texas Chainsaw Massacre?

Looks like the whole Platinum Dunes deal to make more Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies fell through (no tears shed from me after that crappy prequel movie), and Twisted Pictures, the folks behind the Saw franchise, have picked up the rights to do multiple pictures.

Their plan is to bring the story into present day for a 3D Texas Chainsaw Massacre reboot scripted by Stephen Susco, writer of the American reduxes of The Grudge.

Kinda makes me sad.  The remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre is one of my favorite movies of ALL TIME.  The fact that the guys behind Saw want to take this franchise over doesn’t inspire a ton of faith in me.  The last couple of Saw films have been DTV quality – I wouldn’t wish that on my beloved Leatherface.
