I told you a little while back about the new band, How to Destroy Angels, featuring Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails) and his wife, Mariqueen Maandig. Well, the band has released a new, 6-track EP at their official site. The best part? It’s absolutely free. There are also other, less free, options available, including t-shirt […]
I’m a HUGE Nine Inch Nails fan. Funny story – I recently met a stripper who shared the love I had for Nine Inch Nails back in the late 90’s, early 2000’s. We spoke about how we just had to own every “halo,” every import, bootleg video, etc. etc. Nine Inch Nails as a band […]
From: Geekologie I am so serving this drink at the next Pauloween party. Or on Mother’s Day. Ingredients: 3/4 shot Silver Rum 1/4 shot Everclear 1 Blue Twizzler Directions: Wind a blue Twizzler around a tall double shot glass. It should stick to the sides of the glass. All of you nerds already know of Freezepop, I’m sure. With songs appearing in a few popular video games and having played PAX a few times, Freezepop has been in nerd culture enough already. Of course, it is a specific branch of nerd culture and I’ll explain a bit for those of you in other […]
And no, I’m not referring to Funnybook host Jonathan getting his hands on a Fleshlight. The less said about that the better. Just remember Jonny – you weren’t masterbating, you were high fiving your penis…repeatedly. Anyway…what I’m really writing to talk about, and anybody who reads this site should know by the title of the […]
What happens if you cross Rammstein and the Beastie Boys? I have no idea, but Die Fantastischen Vier (or Fanta 4 for short) are one of the first German Hip-Hop groups to actually rap in German. If you can enjoy music in a different language AND you like hip-hop then you might actually like Fanta […]
I’ve been holding off on writing this article for awhile now. I discovered William Elliott Whitmore around the same time as O’Death – They both did 7″ splits with Murder by Death. The reason I waited was because I wasn’t sure at first if I liked Whitmore or not. After spending a week listening to […]
This stupid standing cat video has been seen all over the world (I bet your mom, who doesn’t even own a computer, has seen it), but dammit…you put that stupid cat in a hat, and play some mariachi music, and all of a sudden, it’s Once Upon a Time in Mexico. I’m hoping the sequel […]
Again with the old CDs I found, another band the turned up was Type O Negative. Unlike most bands I listen to, I remember how I discovered Type O. It was 1997 and I was a wee lad of thirteen. I bought a video game, Blood and on the CD there was a music video. […]
This week, I’m not telling you anything you don’t already know. Everyone knows who Queen is. I mean, according to The Guinness Book of World Records, Queen albums have spent a total of 27 years on UK album charts. In case you missed that: 27 years, that’s more time than any other musical act. Queen […]
