Welcome back, loyal readers.  It was kind of light over the last couple of weeks with nothing really standing out, but before we get to the news and reviews, I want to take a moment to mention a great loss to the comic book community.  In the early hours of Saturday, May 14, writer and artist Darwyn Cooke lost his battle with cancer.  Mr. Cooke was a master of storytelling and brought us so many fantastic works and his loss is deeply felt.  I wish his family and friends comfort in this time of hardship.  If you have a chance this week, read some of his work and remember him for the greatness that he was.  And now a moment of silence for Mr. Cooke.

“………”

Previously_webTV News: Arrow is casting a new character named James for Season 5 while Legends of Tomorrow is looking to add two new members itself.  DC’s TV world continues to grow too as SyFy has picked up Krypton because why not?  And Locke and Key is back in development… again.  Krysten Ritter has said that Jessica Jones Season 2 will be filmed back to back with Defenders.  After a scary moment, Supergirl will be back for Season 2… on the CW.  Marvel though got a spot of bad news when both Agent Carter and Most Wanted both didn’t get picked up.

Movie News: The Marvel Universe cast grows as Eriq La Salle joins Wolverine 3 and Michael B. Jordan has joined Black Panther.  Meanwhile, Adam McCay will be directing a film version of Irredeemable.  And on the Warner Bros’s side of things, Ben Affleck is now an executive producer on Justice League – probably because he never wants to see the reviews from Dawn of Justice happen again.  And speaking of never happening again, Simon Kinberg wants another crack at the Fantastic Four… with the same cast.  Cure, why not?  It can’t get any worse than his first attempt right?

Comic News:  IDW continues to resurrect old properties with a new M.A.S.K. comic.  Marvel has announced that Darth Vader will come to a natural end with #25, which makes me wonder if we’re going to skip ahead to between episodes 5 and 6.  And Garth Ennis will return with his Section 8 heroes in August.
