You know, looking at some of the preview art from Red Robin #2, I’m beginning to wonder if Red Robin is, in fact, Tim Drake. See, Tim Drake is supposed to be, what? Fifteen? Seventeen? The character of Red Robin appears to be much older than that. Of course, that could just be the art, […]
Woopty-doo, the Flash is back! And this time? He’s a dick. The Silver-Age Flash, Barry Allen, died spectacularly way back in 1986 within the pages of Crisis on the Infinite Earths. For the longest time, this death seemed to be the one death beyond Bucky’s that was actually permanent in comics. Well Bucky’s back over […]
Sometimes, I just see a piece of art that I show my wife and she looks at me with that astonished, “why the hell would I care?” look. That’s why I love this blog – because you guys care about the same crap I do! Hopefully. Look at this monstrosity of beauty: Sean Cheeks is […]
When I picked up the much anticipated return of long-time deceased speedster Barry Allen in Flash Rebirth #1, I winced at the $3.99 cover price. It’s a hefty book, though. Thinking I was at least going to get my money’s worth, I picked it up. From cover to cover, there are 40 pages within the […]
I LOVE convention season. I check all the sites (and hopefully, you guys will be checking out ours this year) for all the latest news that comes out of the panels. My favorite news items are usually the DC ones. Mostly because I’m a fanboy, but also because DC always seems to have SOMETHING going […]
So, according to Rich Johnston at CBR (click here for the full story), I understand that superstar comic creators Geoff Johns and Jim Lee will be an upcoming creative team on DC’s “Justice League Of America” comic. Jim Lee is already committed to finishing “All Star Batman And Robin The Boy Wonder” with Frank Miller, […]
So, Battle for the Cowl #2 comes out this week, furthering the storyline of the Arkham breakout, the group of supervillains led by Black Mask, and, most importantly, the fight for who’ll become the next Batman. As you can tell from the picture at right, last month’s picture of Dick Grayson as Batman was just […]
If the honeymoon wasn’t over when Ollie (aka Green Arrow) was abducted by the Amazons and Dinah (aka Black Canary) killed the Ollie-look-a-like, then issue #31 of Justice League of America certainly documents the beginning of what can only be some real problems for the couple. In the aftermath of the craptacular Final Crisis, the […]
Well, secret’s out of the bag. Still, the below ads, cool as they may be, aren’t showing the Martian Manhunter Black Lantern that was in the DC Direct ad. But they do show a character that’s been hinted at, seen for the first time. I totally dig the way they did the ads too. Thanks […]
When I was just a wee fanboy, Sunday was comic book day. It wasn’t the day new comics came out. Rather, it was the day I went to the comic shop. My parents were divorced. I lived with Mom, staying with Dad every other weekend. No matter where I was, though, Sunday was comic book […]
