The Variants: Episode 6
You remember Keli? She made a guest appearance on Funnybooks a few weeks ago? Comic geek? LARPer? Well, in episode 6 of The Variants, Keli has to pull a fast one!
After Blackest Night comes BRIGHTEST DAY!
As promised last week, DC’s Source Blog has announced some huge news! A new bi-weekly series titled BRIGHTEST DAY, will start this April, under the watchful eyes of Geoff Johns and Pete Tomasi. Announcements on artists are pending, but BRIGHTEST DAY #0 will be drawn by Fernando Pasarin. Based on preview images, our guesses about […]

The Indy Comic Book Week Sampler
There’s no two ways about it, Indy Comic Book Week was awesome. I enjoyed the hell out of the books I picked up. In fact, the only thing I didn’t like about Indy Comic Book Week was that it could only last seven days. Or so you thought! In cooperation with more than a dozen […]
Take a peek at some ABSOLUTE JUSTICE!
Smallville: Absolute Justice airs Friday, February 5th at 8 PM on the CW, and why should you watch it? Well, it’s a 2-hour Smallville movie written by Geoff Johns, and has the Justice Society of America! Even if you don’t watch Smallville, seeing Dr. Fate, Hawkman, Stargirl, and Sandman in live-action should be enough of […]
Another trip to Strangeland coming!
I worked at a local movie theater (AMC 24 in Hampton, Virginia) when the original Strangeland came out back in 1998 (damn, that long ago?). I remember looking really forward to seeing this indy horror flick we were getting at the theater (which, unlike now, wasn’t quite such a common occurrence 12 years ago), and […]
Blackest Night #7 Inappropriate Cover Gestures!

Perhaps he’s making fun of those dastardly Black Lanterns. Maybe it’s just me. I just think the cover […]
Danny Boyle to do another film not related to zombies in any way.
What the hell, Danny Boyle? Quick jerkin’ us around and give us 28 Months Later! Or 28 Years Later, or whatever. Or direct the remake of The Thing that they’ve got goin’ on – that would be something wouldn’t it? I know I’d pay to see Boyle do something involving monsters, zombies, or space something […]
Yet another reason to watch THE EXPENDABLES!
As if having Sylvester Stallone, Jet Li, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Eric Roberts, Randy Couture, Steve Austin, Terry Crews, Mickey Rourke, Brittany Murphy, Danny Trejo, (gasp for breath) Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, and Charisma Carpenter wasn’t enough for you already! Apparently, Stallone broke his frickin’ neck while filming a fight scene with Stone Cold Steve […]
