Okay…I know we dog Red Robin on Funnybooks with Aron and Paulie, but I went ahead and bought issue #4 (released today) anyway. And wowza. Though the book is not without it’s share of issues, something so big happens in issue #4, it almost makes reading the rest of the series worth it. Wanna know […]
Yeah…we’re a couple of hours late with this new, but isn’t that John Layman interview more interesting anyway? This is definitely going to be a big topic on this week’s Funnybooks with Aron and Paulie. Warner Bros. Entertainment, who already owns DC Comics, is restructuring DC Comics as DC Entertainment. While not terribly much is […]
In a recent episode of Funnybooks with Aron and Paulie (listen here), I talked at length about how much I absolutely LOVED Darness/Pitt #1 from Top Cow/Image Comics. The art is spectacularly beautiful, and the story is fun and scary, with some great character moments that, even if you don’t know the characters, you’ll enjoy. […]
Surprised I haven’t seen more about this awesome news! I was kind of wondering why so many fill in artists already on Adventure Comics. Well, it’s because Geoff Johns appears to be moving artis Francis Manapul over to his other upcoming title, THE FLASH! From Manapul’s Twitter account, thanks all for the kind words about […]
Pages 18 and 19 of Image Comics‘ Chew #4 contains Russian dialogue absent any translation. I had a good time trying to figure out what the characters were saying. Like “Where’d you get that hat?” or “Where can I find a wet wipe?” Chew writer/creator John Layman wrote something very different. He doesn’t even mention […]
Replacing our old feature The Crap You Should Buy This Week, The Pull-List is our opportunity to tell you guys about the crap we’re going to buy this week (and probably speak about during our podcast), so you can get a peek into what comics our twisted minds enjoy. You can access the week’s new […]
Adventure Comics #2 comes out this Wednesday. Looking ahead, DC Comics has just revealed the cover for issue #5 (left). Via the solicits, we know that Superboy Prime will make an appearance in the fourth issue in a Blackest Night tie-in. So how do things roll into #5? Dig that cover. Doesn’t appear things will […]

This episode actually touches on a topic I think Paul and I need to discuss: What happens to your comics when you die. I figure The Wife will sell them, yet I nurse a secret terror that when she re-marries her new husband will read them, bend the spine, and use them as drink coasters. […]
Kicking off our series of New Comic Book Day interviews, we bring you DC Comics writer Matt Sturges. Author of such titles as Final Crisis Aftermath: Run!, House of Mystery, Jack of Fables, Justice Society of America (with Bill Willingham) and the upcoming JSA: All-Stars, Sturges spoke with us about his current and upcoming projects […]
