On Monday’s episode of Funnybooks, you’ll hear Wayne and I have differing opinions on the effectiveness of the new MAN OF STEEL trailer. I feel that, while pretty to look at, it’s ineffective as a teaser. Especially since most folks’ issue with the last entry, Superman Returns, was its lack of action. This teaser does […]
It’s been 9 years since Sandy Collora’s homage to Batman debuted at San Diego ComiCon. In a 2011 interview with Media Mikes, Collora reflected: It was really just a big experiment. So much of what I was attempting to do, had never been done on film at the time. I wanted to present the Batman […]

After watching Prometheus, I decided I needed a dose of good science fiction. This was a problem for me as I have not kept up with the genre and had no clue where to begin. It was a face-palm moment when I realized that I was following a great science fiction author already. I found […]
Over the weekend, I had the opportunity to go see Prometheus in Imax 3D. It was a friend’s birthday, and this was his choice of celebratory entertainment. I had seen previews for the movie previously but had not been aware of the controversy of whether or not this was an alien prequel. The trailers had […]
It is safe to say that John Carter did not do as well as Disney would have liked. It is pretty clear by now that it is more on the Prince of Persia end of the profit scale than on the Pirates of the Caribbean end. That’s a shame, really. The original John Carter books […]
