Dear One Geek, Whether tabletop or LARP, certain folks I game with seem to have more fun bragging about how cool their characters are than actually gaming. They’ll drop out of character for extended lengths of time to go on and on about how awesome their stats are, what a great loophole they’ve found in […]
So, according to Variety, television station AMC has greenlit the pilot for a TV show based on Robert Kirkman’s The Walking Dead comic book. We’re huge fans of The Walking Dead here at IoM (we even got Marvel boy-Jonathan Landreth reading the book!), so of course that’s an exciting enough prospect. Couple with it the […]

Falco closed up the empty glass case and bundled the wrapped sword under his arm. “Walk with me.” He led her from the room, down the hall, and back into the library, where he placed the sword on a mantle peg over the fireplace. He stood back, appreciating the blade. “I like it better in […]
We’ve shared much love on Funnybooks with Aron and Paulie for current Haunt/Invincible artist Ryan Ottley, who does pencils over layouts from Greg Capullo (and Todd McFarlane does the inks). So I have awful, awful news…. Ryan Ottley is leaving Haunt! Oh, the horror! The horrible, horrible horror! What will we do now? I mean, […]

The problem is Dad modeled the fictional epic so closely to Tom’s real life that fans are constantly comparing him to his counterpart, turning him into the lamest […]
If you’ll recall, I didn’t have all the swag on hand when I posted the Indy Comic Book Week Sampler give-a-way a few weeks ago. The image I posted then was but a small, yet savory, taste of the crispy Indy goodness that awaits our Grand Prize winner. Books have been arriving day-after-day. And what […]
Within five minutes of the start of The Human Target, I had already decided that I would hate it. I tell you this because I hate it when a reviewer decides he hates something before it’s really even started. Still, I couldn’t help it. The lead character, Christopher Chance, was smug and arrogant, and his […]
As Paulie wanders the wastelands of Charlotte, NC, Appollyon (AKA Tim) joins Aron, Wayne, and Jonathan for another rousing week of our comics round table. Plus, the return of What If We Were Writing…? Wayne makes a guest appearance on Kicked in the Dicebags Aron’s fever dreams Marvel’s dick move Blackest Night Update Teen Titans […]
Man, this AOL Comics Alliance page has a ton of crap on it! Never realized this page existed before! Nothing quite as awesome as the coverage of different interpretations of Calvin and Hobbes, as you can see here and here. My favorite? The image below…which is actually kinda perfect, isn’t it?
