I really wanted to like Legendary Assassin. The film stars Wu Jing (Jacky Wu) as a lone man who comes into town, kills a crime lord and cuts off his head, then has to deal with falling in love for a policewoman. Unfortunately, the police are on the hunt for the murderer of the crime […]
Dick Grayson has been Batman before. Years ago, after the Knightquest storyline in the Batman comics, Bruce Wayne, healed from his paralysis, returns to Gotham and has to forcible take back the mantle of Batman from his replacement, Jean-Paul Valley (Azrael). Nightwing, comfortable that the Bats is back, tried to go back to the Titans […]
While I have a hard time picking out a single film of all time that I can say is my favorite, I have no problem saying that The Thing is definitely in the top 3. Chilling, creepy, and tense, John Carpenter’s The Thing is one of those films that everyone keeps saying they want to […]
So…Batman’s dead. Kinda. During DC Comics’ recent Final Crisis crossover, Batman breaks his “no guns” rule and shoots Darkseid, using some kind of “god-killing” bullet. (don’t ask me, it doesn’t make much sense) As Darkseid dies, he fires his Omega Sanction beams from his eyes and apparently kills Batman. Well, until two weeks later, when […]
…because The Darkness #75 from Top Cow/Image comics kicked my @$$. This book is the absolute PERFECT comic book. I have less than zero negative things to say about it. What’s that you say? What’s the Darkness? For shame, my friend. For shame. The Darkness tells the tale of Jackie Estacado, mob hitman and all-around […]
I’m not really sure what I think about this. Dean Trippe, the creator of Project Rooftop, and artist Evan Bryce bring us President Awesome, a web comic. This weekly series will faithfully satirize the 44th President of the United States as he preserves, protects, and defends the Constitution of the United States to the best […]
Traveling on business, I’ve been in a hotel all week. Flipping the channels on the in-room-pay-per-view, I observed that Twilight is available. I considered it for a moment… But it’ll appear on my bill… What if my wife found out? Or my boss?!? I’m a lay minister for crying out loud! I could be ruined! […]
Since the show was canceled in 2003, The Wife and I have been itching for Andy Richter Controls the Universe to come to DVD. Andy Richter, former Conan O’Brien sideman, starred in this hysterical sitcom. Richter played a man largely dissatisfied with his life, fancying himself a short story writer, but instead working as a […]
The good folks at DVDActive had news this week of the upcoming release of some awesome meaty Star Trek goodness! Yes folks, our beloved Trek is coming to Blu-Ray! Don’t have a Blu-Ray Player? Buy a Ps3! Ha…just kidding. We all know the Ps3 sucks. Anyway, there are a couple of goodies coming out, not […]
Wil Wheaton was lucky enough to sit in on an advance screening of Zack Snyder’s upcoming film realization of Moore and Gibbons’ Cold War masterpiece, Watchmen. Over on his own blog, Wheaton ends the suspense: It’s the best movie inspired by a graphic novel that I’ve ever seen. It could have gone wrong in a […]
