Holy crap Dorothy Mills is a scary lookin’ chick. That being said, it makes me a little sad to think that Dorothy Mills, which actually was filmed in Dublin, went straight to DVD here in the States. Even a limited theatrical release would have helped this excellent character-driven supernatural thriller find the audience it deserved. […]
Remember when you were a kid and it was easy to meet other geeks? Jamie and I have known each other since grade school. For awhile, I knew him simply as the kid who was always late for the bus. One day, though, we were seated at the same table. We were each drawing. I […]
So, in the weeks leading up to the release of Friday the 13th, you’ve watched all 11 of the original films, purchased the His Name is Jason documentary, and, if you have them, even read the multiple comic series about Jason (an article is coming on those, by the way!). So what do you do […]
I know this one is a bit late (dang…this film came out in 2005), but it just popped up on IFC On Demand recently, so I thought I’d give it a whirl.

You know how there are certain films that you can tell in the first couple of minutes that you’re going to love them? The Appeared is one of those films.

Tony Almeda is in this film, sans his soul patch! Isn’t that enough to warrant renting this film to begin with? A group of “criminals” take a grocery store hostage, looking for “something” that they’ve traced to that location. Of course, as with every siege in cinematic history, stuff goes wrong, the cops show up, […]
Hey everybody! I know this is short notice, but tomorrow, at the Chesapeake, VA public library, the guys at Fantasmo Cult Cinema Explosion will be showing a marathon of the first three Friday the 13th movies! And Betsy Palmer (Mrs. Voorhees) will be on hand to participate via conference call! From the official site: Team […]
